Multi-sensor data integration is the new trend in terrestrial and aerial 3D mapping applications, as demonstrated by the quickly growing market sector of aerial oblique and hybrid mapping systems. Such aerial mapping systems are gaining very much attention as they offer new opportunities for an improved quality of geo-spatial products. Nevertheless data processing solutions have still some pitfalls and various research opportunities are still open. The talk will review the origin and developments of existing oblique and hybrid sensor solutions, the photogrammetric pipeline to derive 2.5D/3D spatial information products and the fusion with LiDAR point clouds.
