Abstract:
Nowadays, with the advancement of technology in various sciences, Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle's (UAV) are designed and used for different applications. One of the problems, which associated with UAVs, is the design of the fly route, so that it can reach its predetermined goals. Designing the optimal flight path aims to introduce a route to UAVs, which has the maximum visual coverage with the shortest distance, that is, the highest visibility in the shortest distance. In this research, we have tried to use the digital elevation model (DEM) of the region and the mathematical models to compute optimum path. The results of the digital model are illustrated graphically. The visibility algorithm is implemented for all pixels in the digital elevation model and the pixels with the maximum visibility areas are saved. At the end, a path adapted to these pixels and it fit with aerodynamic characteristics as well as the height of the flying path. Consequently, the final flying path is determined. Comparing the final visibility map with the initial visibility map, the path has 83% of accuracy.
