  • Processing steps:

- Pre-processing of satellite images

- land surface emissivity and land surface temperature retrieval

- Image classification and change detection

- Prediction of the land use map

- Investigation of the effect of land use changes on land surface temperature changes

- Prediction of land surface temperature for future years based on effect of land use changes and land surface temperature chenges in past years

- Calculation of surface urban heat island intensity in past and future years

  • Study area: Babol, Mazandaran province, Iran
  • Goal: Forecasting surface urban heat island intensity                                                    
  • Requirement: Having a basic knowledge in ARC map, ENVI, IDRISI and Matlab programing

Presenters Information


           

Dr. Majid Kiavarz

Dr. Majid Kiavarz has done Post-Doc. in Remote Sensing from 2014-2015 at the University of Tehran. He received his Ph.D. in Remote Sensing at the University of Tehran from 2007 to 2013 at the University of Tehran. From 2015 he is Associate Professor in the field of Remote Sensing at the GIS&RS department in the faculty if Geography, University of Tehran. His research areas are: Land-cover and land-use mapping using Remote Sensing images and GIS, Thermal and Infrared Remote Sensing, Environment monitoring and modeling using satellite images and GIS, Classification and clustering of satellite images using statistical and intelligent techniques, Intelligent algorithms in Remote Sensing and GIS including fuzzy reasoning, artificial neural network, and genetic algorithm, Image processing, texture analysis, object-based classification, and computer vision, Disaster management based on Remote Sensing data and GIS analysis, Raster GIS.

        

Mahammad Karimi

 

Mohammad Karimi Firozjaei is a PhD student of Remote Sensing and GIS at the Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, Faculty of Geography, University of Tehran. His research interests include Thermal Remote Sensing, Application of Remote Sensing in Urban Environment, and GIScience.
